Retroware and Zenovia Interactive are teaming up to publish Neon Inferno, a new pixel-art cyberpunk shooter. The game draws inspiration from classics like Contra and Wild Guns, with action split between the foreground and background. Set in a dystopian 2055 New York City, players fight as Angelo or Mariana against a corrupt NYPD and other crime syndicates.
Players can use “Bullet Time” to deflect projectiles. The game offers multiple upgrades, difficulty levels, an Arcade Mode, and two-player co-op.
Key Features:
- Dynamic gameplay: Blends side-scroller and gallery-shooter elements.
- 32-bit Style: Pixel art graphics with a fitting soundtrack.
- Two-Player Co-op: Play with a friend.
- Arcade Challenge: Multiple difficulty modes, including a one-credit arcade mode.
