Snezhnaya, Teyvat’s Cryo nation and Fatui stronghold, also houses the Adventurers’ Guild headquarters. The nation holds six of the seven Gnoses, all except the Pyro Gnosis, after Fatui Harbingers swept through Teyvat since version 1.0. Why certain Archons chose to hand over their Gnoses will be answered in Snezhnaya’s story chapter.
The ancient fae race has roots that run deeper than any faction seen so far. Nod-Krai companions Flins and Linnea both trace their lineage to the kingdom of Hyperborea, whose fall ties into the Heavenly Principles and the Descenders. More of that history, first hinted at in the “Hymns of the Far North” preserved by the Frostmoon Scions, will get fuller treatment in the new region.
Trains pose the steepest technical challenge of any vehicle the game has introduced. Unlike Fontaine’s small aquabus, multi-carriage trains require more complex motion simulation and tighter Co-Op state sync. The team said most of those problems are worked out. The carriages are also built to function as cultural spaces, the developers said, drawing from how Beijing’s 798 Art District grew out of an abandoned factory.
HOYO-MiX is drawing on classical symphonic traditions and Slavic folk music, adding modernist and romantic pieces to match the region’s frozen, historic weight.

Cryo gets a structural change. The element can now destroy, shatter, and reshape battlefield terrain rather than just trigger elemental reactions, cutting off or opening enemy movement paths in the process. Fatui enemies will fight in organized formations that match their militarized nature.
Upcoming characters will receive a visual step-up while cel-shading stays intact. The team said it won’t drive graphics upgrades in ways that leave mid-range and low-end players behind. A new “marvelous gadget” will let players reshape parts of the environment and share those changes with others.
The developers said Snezhnaya is not an ending. The game’s evolution will pick up speed from this chapter on, and the team still believes it can surprise the world “five, ten, or even twenty years from now.”
