The title focuses on tactical, skill-based combat against machines through challenging hunts. Two modes were confirmed: Machine Incursion, a wave-based mode, and Cauldron Descent, a multi-stage trial with evolving rooms.
A narrative campaign will introduce new canon story elements that continue beyond launch. Between missions, players can socialize, customize hunters, and upgrade gear in a dedicated hub.
Horizon Hunters Gathering will hold a closed beta for PS5 and PC in late February. Playtest sign-ups are available now through the official website.
