Marvel Rivals continues expanding its hero shooter roster with Ultron joining as a new Strategist-class character. The robotic villain brings flight capabilities, healing drones, and a powerful energy beam attack. Players can preview his abilities in the newly released trailer.
Season 2.5 overhauls team-up mechanics, adding six new abilities while removing four existing ones. One notable addition is the Jeffnado, a fan-requested combo featuring Jeff the Land Shark and Storm.
The update introduces Arakko as a fresh battleground, along with an experimental mode launching June 6 called Ultron’s Battle Matrix Protocol. This 6v6 mode allows custom hero builds and stat enhancements, testing new ways to showcase Marvel characters’ powers.
Developers NetEase describe the experimental mode as fulfilling player fantasies of controlling powered-up Marvel heroes and villains. The changes reflect ongoing adjustments based on community feedback while expanding gameplay variety.
Marvel Rivals maintains momentum with this mid-season refresh, balancing new content with mechanical refinements ahead of future updates. The game remains free-to-play on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
