The update introduces underwater combat sequences with the electric Lagiacrus, available to players at Hunter Rank 31 who have completed specific story missions. Seregios, known for its bleeding-inducing bladescale attacks, also joins the roster with its own unlock requirements.
New features include layered weapon skins, the ability to switch between quest handlers Alma and Erik, and enhanced Photo Mode with filters and brightness controls. Players can also select which Support Hunter accompanies them on quests, with new character Mina wielding Sword and Shield.
The Festival of Accord: Flamefete runs July 23-August 6, while the challenging Arch-Tempered Uth Duna event launches July 30-August 20. A special Fender guitar collaboration quest arrives August 27-September 24. Free two-hour trials begin June 30 on PlayStation Plus Premium and Xbox Series X|S, with the game currently 20% off in a limited-time sale.

Capcom has announced that Free Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds will launch on Monday, 30th June 2025. The announcement was made during today’s Capcom Spotlight digital event, within the Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase segment. The upcoming update will introduce a variety of exciting new content and gameplay enhancements. Stay tuned as we unveil the latest trailer and key features included in this update.
The leviathan Lagiacrus finally makes its appearance!
An Extra Mission featuring Lagiacrus will be unlocked once you reach HR 31 or higher and have completed the Main Mission “A World Turned Upside Down” and the Side Mission “Forest Doshaguma”.
The highly popular Lagiacrus, known as the apex predator of the ocean’s food chain and proudly bearing the title of Leviathan, finally makes its return! Beware of the massive electric discharges that can make the surrounding waters boil.
In this title, the hunt for Lagiacrus will primarily take place on land, but there will also be special event-style sequences that unfold underwater. While free weapon actions will not be available during underwater segments, be sure to enjoy the thrilling encounters with Lagiacrus beneath the surface.
By gathering materials from Lagiacrus, hunters will be able to craft new hunter gear as well as equipment for their Palico companions. Additionally, layered armour sets will be obtained alongside the crafted gear, so please look forward to customizing your appearance!
Seregios Makes Its Debut
An extra mission featuring Seregios will be unlocked once you reach HR 31 or higher and have completed the Main Mission “A World Turned Upside Down”.
Introducing Seregios, known for its signature weapon “bladescales”, which can cause bleeding. Beware its swift movements and attacks that launch these scales to inflict cutting wounds. To counter the ‘Bleeding’ status caused by these attacks, be sure to carry healing items like Rations or Well-done Steak.
By collecting materials from Seregios, you’ll be able to craft powerful new equipment.
More Powerful Variants
After completing the missions for Lagiacrus and Seregios, and reaching HR 41 or higher, both monsters will begin to appear in the field as ★8 Tempered Monsters. Challenge these formidable foes and put your skills to the test!
New Layered Weapons
New Layered Weapon will be added, allowing players to further customize the appearance of their weapons. Layered Weapon can be unlocked by crafting the final upgrade of each weapon tree. For Artian Weapons, their Layered Weapon can be obtained by reinforcing Rare 8 Artian Weapons to their maximum level.
For weapons that visually change during the upgrade process, players will also unlock Layered Weapon for the earlier appearances. Additionally, Palico Layered Weapons can be acquired by crafting High-Rank Palico weapons.
Additional System Features
A new feature has been added that allows players to switch between Handlers (Quest Handlers).
You will now be able to switch your accompanying Handler between Alma and Erik. This feature will be unlocked after completing the Lagiacrus mission, so be sure to give it a try!
Support Hunter ‘Mina’ Joins the Hunt
The Support Hunter ‘Mina’, who wields a Sword and Shield, now joins the hunt! This update also introduces a new feature that allows players to select which Support Hunter will accompany them on quests.
Photo Mode Gets Even Better
Photo Mode has been enhanced with new features, including an Effects Tab where you can adjust brightness and apply filters, and a Character Display Tab that lets you toggle the visibility of Handlers, Palicoes, Seikret, and more. Enjoy capturing your in-game moments with the improved and more user-friendly Photo Mode!

The seasonal event Festival of Accord: Flamefete is scheduled to run from Wednesday, 23rd July to Wednesday, 6th August.

During these seasonal events, the decorations and meals in the Grand Hub change, and players can obtain exclusive equipment, gestures, and decorations for their Pop-up Camps. Arch-tempered Uth Duna: Limited-time Event Starting Wednesday, 30th July 2025
The Arch-Tempered Uth Duna, an exceptionally powerful variant even among Tempered Monsters, will be available in Event Quests and Free Challenge Quests from Wednesday, July 30, 2025, to Wednesday, August 20, 2025.
Hunters will be able to craft the ‘Uth Duna γ’ armor series, as well as the ‘Felyne Uth Duna γ’ equipment series for their Palico companions. Hunters with confidence in their skills and a Hunter Rank of 50 or above are encouraged to take on the challenge.
In addition, a variety of limited-time quests will be available, including Event Quests that allow you to craft special equipment, quests where you can easily obtain Armor Sphere and Decorations, and Challenge Quests targeting Mizutsune. Please look forward to these exciting quests!
Fender Special Collaboration
A special collaboration with the world-renowned guitar brand Fender has been announced. For a limited time, an Event Quest will be available where you can obtain exclusive collaboration gestures. The quest is scheduled to be available from Wednesday, 27th August 2025, to Wednesday, 24th September 2025.
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Monster Hunter, the globally released collaboration guitar, the Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster , will also appear in the game! Using the special gesture where you perform with the collaboration guitar is sure to liven up any gathering. Although the quest will be available a little later, please look forward to the upcoming collaboration quest!
Downloadable Content & Free Dance Gestures and More!
Four types of dance gestures will be available as free downloadable content. After the release of Title Update 2, be sure to check each store for Monster Hunter Wilds to download the free content.
Paid Downloadable Content
Additionally, the Cosmetic DLC Pack 2, which includes various DLC items to enhance your hunting life, will be released.
Those who own the Premium Deluxe Edition or the Cosmetic DLC Pass will be able to download the content after its release, so be sure to get it.
