Seasun Games has launched “Abyssal Dawn”, a major update for its 3D sci-fi RPG shooter Snowbreak: Containment Zone, introducing fresh content and gameplay elements designed to enhance player engagement.
The update, available as of April 17, adds two new playable characters: Nerida – Styx Envoy, a chaos-type assault rifle specialist capable of dealing both single-target and area damage, and Nita – Pulse, a thermal-type shotgun character featuring a new quick-time event combat system.
“Our development team is proud to continue to expand Snowbreak: Containment Zone in ways that resonate with the games core audience, standing by our commitment to a player-first philosophy”, said Chongchong, producer of Snowbreak at Seasun Games.
The update introduces multiple character outfits including Dawns Command for Nerida, Sylvan Spirit for Nita, and additional costumes for existing characters Katya, Bubu, Fenny and Yao. Players can also access a new interactable scene called Grove of Secrets, bundled with an outfit and weapon skin for Nita.
Mumu, head of game publishing in China, emphasized that these additions “enhance the games master love narratives, character content and in-game experience without additional costs”, maintaining the studios commitment to its previously announced monetization strategy.
Several in-game events accompany the update, beginning with the permanent Pulse Puzzle event that allows players to gain early access to Nita by solving character-related puzzles. The Emotional Purge event, running April 28 through May 29, introduces 3D cover shooter mechanics with dynamic movement options including vaulting over cover and physics-based motion effects.
Perhaps most notably for free-to-play fans, the Nitas Invitation event starting May 1 will provide a permanent opportunity for players to fully unlock Nitas maximum Auctus Drive, signature weapon and fixed-talent logistics squad at no cost.
Additional gameplay features include a Snapshot Booth for posed character photos with customizable scenes and expressions, main story replay functionality, dynamic outfit illustrations for player profiles, and a new Hide and Seek mode.
Snowbreak: Containment Zone remains free-to-play and is available on iOS, Android, Windows and through the Epic Games store.
