Remedy Entertainment has officially announced that its upcoming cooperative shooter FBC: Firebreak will release on June 17, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, including day one availability on Game Pass and PlayStation Plus subscription services.
The Finnish developer revealed the release date during a special livestream for their first multiplayer title set in the Control universe. Priced at $39.99, the three-player cooperative shooter will also offer a Deluxe Edition for $49.99 that includes exclusive cosmetic items, voice packs, and armor sets.
FBC: Firebreak places players in the chaotic Federal Bureau of Control, fighting unusual threats with unconventional weapons like slime-shooting machine guns and gnome-shaped RPGs. The game features the studio’s proprietary Northlight engine with optimizations for multiplayer gameplay while still supporting advanced features like path tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 4.
Remedy confirmed their post-launch support plans will include two new missions later in 2025 and additional updates throughout 2026. All gameplay content updates will be free, with monetization limited to cosmetic items only.
The announcement follows Remedy’s 2024 decision to focus on key projects after canceling Project Kestrel, with FBC: Firebreak joining other major developments like Control 2 and the Max Payne remakes in their lineup.
