The upcoming survival horror title will pair FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft with veteran agent Leon S. Kennedy, offering a blend of action and horror where players can switch between first-person and third-person perspectives at any time. Leon’s gameplay focuses on refined combat, featuring a new hatchet weapon and the ability to parry attacks or seize enemy weapons like a chainsaw. Grace’s story begins in an overrun sanatorium, emphasizing resource scarcity and survival decisions, aided by a device that crafts items from infected blood. A special ‘Requiem’ revolver serves as a powerful last resort.
Zombies in the game exhibit disturbing remnants of their past lives, such as a chef obsessed with cooking or a janitor endlessly polishing mirrors, suggesting players may exploit these behaviors. The narrative mystery revolves around the keyword Elpis, connecting Grace’s past, the death of her mother Alyssa Ashcroft, and Leon’s investigation.
Players can tailor the experience with multiple difficulty settings. Casual offers aim assist and more forgiving health, while Standard (Classic) increases tension by requiring Ink Ribbons to save when playing as Grace, adding a strategic layer to resource management.
Resident Evil Requiem will launch simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on Feb. 27, 2026. Notably, it will also be available on the GeForce NOW cloud gaming service. Owners of the Steam or Epic Games Store versions can stream the game to lower-spec PCs, mobile devices, and supported TVs with a GeForce NOW membership. The PC version is being optimized for a wide range of hardware, with high-end systems supporting NVIDIA’s DLSS 4 and path-traced effects for enhanced performance and visuals.
Capcom announced two major luxury collaborations. Historic watchmaker Hamilton will release two limited-edition timepieces replicating the in-game watches worn by Leon and Grace. The Khaki Field Auto Chrono (Leon) and Pan Europ Automatic (Grace) will be limited to 2,000 units worldwide, available starting on the game’s launch day. Porsche has created a one-of-a-kind Cayenne Turbo GT using 3D printing technology, designed to fit the game’s dark aesthetic. This custom SUV, themed around performance and survival, will appear in-game as Leon’s vehicle.
Additional announcements from the Resident Evil Showcase include the fall release of 1/6 scale figures of Grace and Leon, special 30th-anniversary Resident Evil Symphony of Legacy orchestral concerts across Japan, North America and Europe, and the launch of Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition and Resident Evil Village Gold Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 the same day.
The game will be available in Standard and Deluxe editions, with the Deluxe Edition including five costumes, four weapon skins, and other digital items. All pre-orders will receive Grace’s ‘Apocalypse’ costume. Other launch items include a special Resident Evil Requiem-themed Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, a Premium Steelbook Edition, and the first-ever Resident Evil amiibo, featuring Grace, slated for summer 2026. Players who purchase the game through the Epic Games Store will also receive Resident Evil-themed collaboration items in Fortnite, such as a Grace outfit.
The reveals position Resident Evil Requiem as a major cross-platform release, leveraging both cutting-edge gaming technology and unconventional brand partnerships to expand its reach beyond traditional horror fans.
