March 1st 2024 Update Patch Notes

The Onmyoji Arena March 1st 2024 Update sees new shikigami Sakura make her debut on the Heian-kyo battlefield.

New shikigami Sakura

Cherry blossoms fill the sky as the story chapter ends,

Flowers turn into butterflies, and cherry blossoms turn into snow,

A beautiful figure dances among the falling cherry blossoms,

And thoughts dance with the wind.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUr6O33Jsf0

Trait: Sakura Blizzard

A basic attack hitting an enemy will accumulate 1 cherry blossom. After accumulating 3 cherry blossoms, all cherry blossoms will be consumed, and petals will be blown within the area, dealing damage.

Ability 1: Blooming Sakura

Swings a cherry blossom in the specified direction, dealing damage and slowing down enemies hit along the path, while inflicting Sakura Brand that can be detonated by basic attacks to deal damage to enemies within a circular range.

Ability 2: Sakura Dance

Sakura dances gracefully, during which her Movement Speed increases, and the falling petals attack enemies and deal damage. Petals hitting enemies during Sakura Dance will also accumulate cherry blossoms for Sakura Blizzard.

Ability 3: Sakura Spin

Inflicts Immobilize on enemies hit near the caster, and gains Slow-immune when hitting enemy shikigami.

Ability 4: Sakura Rain

Sakura plants a cherry blossom tree at a designated location, creating an inhibitor. Within the inhibitor, Sakura will continuously launch Sakura Dance, and add physical damage to each petal.

While the cherry blossom tree is active, participate in sealing enemy shikigami to launch Sakura Rain again. This effect can only be triggered once.

Crossover effect between Sakura and Momo

When either Momo or Sakura returns, the other can join halfway and return together.

Momo’s basic attacks can also trigger Sakura Brand.

Sakura’s basic attacks or abilities hitting enemy shikigami can also stack energy for Momo’s Healing Blossom.

When Momo uses Revival Blossom and Sakura is nearby, Sakura will receive an extra Peach Blossom Charm.

Balance Adjustments

Akaname

Akaname’s strength and damage output in the mid-game are somewhat weak, so we have slightly increased the basic growth of the passive effect damage of Akaname’s Ability 1 Sweeping Time.

Ability 1: Sweeping Time

Enhanced Basic Attack Base Damage adjusted from 60/91/122/153/184 to 60/105/150/195/240.

Nekomata

Nekomata’s Ability 2 Chacha Rush is not only flexible and capable of inflicting control effects, it also has high damage, making Nekomata’s a bit too strong at the moment. Therefore, we have slightly limited the damage-dealing capability of this ability.

Ability 2: Chacha Rush

Damage per Coin reduced from (7.5% Attack) (+3 Current Level) to (5% Attack) (+1.5 Current Level).

Sasori

Sasori is currently a bit too strong during the laning phase in the top solo position. Her passive’s splash effect can effectively suppress opponents on the lane. We hope to limit Sasori in the top solo position without changing her strength in the jungling position, so we have reduced Sasori’s wave-clearing efficiency.

Passive: Scorpion Venom

Scorpion Venom will only inflict 50% damage effect to the lane.

Susanoo

The Slow effect of Susanoo’s ultimate ability is somewhat too powerful. It is now often used to preempt and stall enemies rather than finish them off, which deviates from our expectations. Therefore, we have slightly adjusted the Slow effect of the ultimate ability Orochibane.

Ultimate Ability: Orochibane

Slow inflicted adjusted from a 1s 30% Slow effect that can be stacked up to 3 times to a non-stackable a 1s 50% Slow effect.

Aori

Aori’s damage during laning is somewhat low, and the short cooldown time leads to frequent casting, resulting in a poor experience. In this adjustment, we hope her early game damage is more concentrated. Therefore, we have increased the damage of each amulet from Aori’s Ability 1 Galaxy Amulet, and also increased its cooldown time, hoping to improve the laning experience.

Ability 1: Galaxy Amulet

Damage per amulet increased from 60/82.5/105/127.5/150 (+18% Ability Power) to 70/90/110/130/150 (+18% Ability Power);

Cooldown increased from 4.6/4.1/3.6/3.1/2.6s to 5.6/4.85/4.1/3.35/2.6s.

Momiji

Currently, the damage dealt by Momiji’s full set of abilities to a single target is slightly low, and the effect of Ability 1 Maple Puppet is somewhat inadequate. Therefore, we have increased the damage dealt by detonating the mark of Ability 1 Maple Puppet.

Ability 1: Maple Puppet

Damage increased from 100/135/170/205/240 (+40% Ability Power) to 130/160/190/220/250 (+40% Ability Power).

Higanbana

Higanbana is currently weak overall, and her Ability 2 Bloom Shadow has a low hit rate. As a result, her control effects are somewhat unstable. Therefore, we have increased the flight speed of the flower seeds in Ability 2 Bloom Shadow, hoping she can perform better on the battlefield.

Ability 2: Bloom Shadow

Flower seed flight speed increased from 1,200 to 1,500.

Wukong

Wukong is a bit too strong in the early and mid-game, and the growth damage of his Ability 1 Cudgel’s Protection is a bit too high, which allows him to gain the upper hand in early and mid-game combat. Therefore, we have reduced the damage of Ability 1 Cudgel’s Protection, hoping that Wukong can return to a reasonable strength after the adjustment.

Ability 1: Cudgel’s Protection

Swing Damage reduced from 25/70/115/160/205 (+55% Bonus Attack) to 25/60/95/130/165 (+55% Bonus Attack).

Cudgel Damage reduced from 50/120/190/260/330 (+110% Bonus Attack) to 50/100/150/200/250 (+110% Bonus Attack).

Kinnara

Kinnara’s suppressive power during laning has become somewhat too strong after the last balance adjustment. This time, we have slightly reduced the base damage of Ability 2 Crescendo and the early game Shield of Ability 3 Temper, hoping to provide a more reasonable counter experience for the opponent.

Ability 2: Crescendo

Do – Crimson Skies

Damage dealt to enemies along the path decreased from 20 (+24% Attack) (+6*Current Level) to 15 (+24% Attack) (+8*Current Level);

Extra True Damage reduced from 30 (+36% Attack) (+9*Current Level) to 25 (+24% Attack) (+13*Current Level).

Re – Yellow Rose

Damage dealt to enemies along the path reduced from 25 (+25% Attack) (+5*Current Level) to 20 (+25% Attack) (+8*Current Level);

AoE Damage reduced from 25 (+25% Attack) (+5*Current Level) to 20 (+25% Attack) (+8*Current Level).

Mi – Glorious Shrine:

Damage dealt to enemies along the path reduced from 50 (+60% Attack) to 40 (+60% Attack) (+6*Current Level).

So – Zephyr:

Damage dealt to enemies along the path reduced from 50 (+60% Attack) to 40 (+60% Attack) (+6*Current Level).

La – Clarity

Damage dealt to enemies along the path reduced from 50 (+60% Attack) to 40 (+60% Attack) (+6*Current Level).

Ability 3: Temper

Shield reduced from 40/90/140/160/240 (+40% Attack) to 30/80/130/180/230 (+40% Attack).

Tank Shikigami Item Iteration

In the current version, Tank shikigami are generally weak. To enhance their competitiveness in the Heian-kyo battlefield, we plan to make some item adjustments. Currently, the basic attributes provided by Vaisravana Drum, as well as its cost-effectiveness in terms of wave clearing and jungling, are significantly higher than other Tank items. Most Tank shikigami rely on Vaisravana Drum for wave clearing and jungling, resulting in a lack of diversity in item selection. In terms of functionality, some Tank items have mixed functions, lack active enemy-stalling capabilities, and their effects are not prominent enough and their roles are not clear. Apart from Vaisravana Drum, the overall cost-effectiveness of Tank items is also low. To address these issues, we have made corresponding adjustments.

Vaisravana Drum, Rogue’s Gauntlet, and some shikigami’s lane clearing and jungle farming efficiency adjustments:

Currently, Vaisravana Drum serves as the first advanced item for Tank shikigami, providing them with high basic attributes and wave clearing capabilities that they generally lack. Therefore, under the original Tank item system, the cost-effectiveness of Vaisravana Drum in terms of basic attributes and wave clearing efficiency was somewhat too high. Through the adjustment of Tank items in this update, we hope that Tank shikigami can have reasonable wave clearing efficiency without overly relying on items, while balancing the benefits of Tank items in various aspects. We hope to reduce Tank shikigami’s reliance on Vaisravana Drum without making some of them too difficult to counter. Therefore, we have increased the damage coefficient of the core damage abilities of some slower wave clearing Tank shikigami against minions. As a balance adjustment, we have slightly reduced the cost-effectiveness of Vaisravana Drum in terms of various basic attributes, and slightly weakened the wave clearing efficiency of the item effect Skyfire. We hope that after the adjustment, the first item choices for Tank shikigami will be more diverse, and they will rely less on Vaisravana Drum. Accordingly, we have also reduced the damage coefficient of the intermediate item Rogue’s Gauntlet against non-shikigami units.

Some Tank shikigami abilities have an increased damage coefficient against minions:

Yamawaro’s Quake: Damage coefficient against minions increased to 150%.

Kuro’s Vengeful Cut: Damage coefficient against minions increased to 130%.

Umibozu’s Deadly Surge: Damage coefficient against minions increased to 140%.

Kyonshi Ani’s Kyonshi Amulets: Damage coefficient against minions increased to 160%.

Samurai X’s Bushido Cut and Tomb Dust: Damage coefficient against minions increased to 140%.

Hououga’s Flame Wing: Damage coefficient against minions increased to 140%.

Some Tank shikigami abilities have an increased damage coefficient against monsters:

Yamawaro’s Quake: Damage coefficient against monsters increased to 140%/150%/160%/170%/180%.

Ibaraki Doji’s Six Realms of Hell: Damage coefficient against monsters increased to 130%/145%/160%/175%/190%.

Nezuko Kamado’s Cracked Earth: Damage coefficient against monsters increased to 150%/160%/170%/180%/190%.

Vaisravana Drum

Stats adjustments:

HP reduced from +600 to +550.

Armor reduced from +80 to +70.

Magic Resist reduced from +40 to +35.

Skyfire adjustments:

Damage multiplier against minions reduced from 2x to 1.5x;

Damage multiplier against monsters reduced from 3.5x to 2x.

Rogue’s Gauntlet

Skyfire adjustment: Damage multiplier against non-shikigami units reduced from 2x to 1.5x.

New item Wind Rider Helmet

Currently, Tank shikigami are somewhat lacking in their ability to actively slow down and stall enemies with their items. We will add a new item with an AoE Slow effect to let Tank shikigami better control enemy shikigami in team battles.

Price: 2,000

Stats: +600 HP, +10% Cooldown Reduction, +60 Armor, +50 Magic Resist, +100% HP Regen.

Fusion Recipe: Kitsune Mask + Phoenix Cloak

Wind Rider effect: After hitting an enemy shikigami with three different basic attacks or abilities, a whirlwind will be summoned around the caster that lasts for 4s, inflicting a 40% Slow effect on nearby enemies. This effect has a cooldown of 20s.

Soul Grabber

Currently, Soul Grabber binds multiple effects such as shortening cooldown, increasing the caster’s speed, and slowing down enemy, making the item’s characteristics not prominent enough. We hope to focus the functionality of Soul Grabber on slowing down enemies, hoping that Tank shikigami can gain stronger control capabilities by purchasing this item. Therefore, we have removed the speed-up effect of Cursed Scar on the caster and significantly increased the slowdown effect on the enemy. At the same time, we have increased the overall cost-effectiveness of Soul Grabber, hoping to enrich the choice of early game items for Tank shikigami.

Price: Reduced from 2,000 to 1,900

Stats: Increased from +465 HP to +500 HP

Cursed Scar adjustment: Damage changed from (+70% Bonus Armor) to 20 (+65% Bonus Armor).

Cursed Scar effect adjustment: After casting the ability, the next basic attack within 5s will deal an additional 20 (+65% Bonus Armor) Magic Damage and reduce the target’s Movement Speed by 50% for 2s. The Slow effect is halved for ranged shikigami carriers. This effect can be triggered once every 4s.

Tsukuyomi Do

Currently, the Attack Speed reduction effect of Tsukuyomi Do is triggered by receiving damage equal to a certain percentage of the caster’s HP during battle, which grants a shield. When the shield is broken, it inflicts AoE Attack Speed reduction. The trigger conditions are overly complex. Additionally, it provides MP, making its functionality somewhat mixed. We aim to adjust the functionality of Tsukuyomi Do to a Tank item that provides MP and a shield, hoping that tank shikigami with a shortage of MP can choose this item, and can ensure their survival by providing a shield during battle. Therefore, we have increased the MP in the basic attributes of the item, relaxed the trigger conditions of the King Mu Order effect, and increased the Shield obtained after triggering.

Stats adjustment: from +300 MP to +500 MP.

King Mu Order adjustment: The cumulative damage received within 5s, relative to max HP before any damage reduction, is reduced from 30% down to 25%.

Shield increased from 200 (+15% of max MP) to 250 (+20% of max MP).

Hoko Do

The Slow effect of Hoko Do is triggered after taking damage equal to a certain percentage of the caster’s HP, making it somewhat passive. Additionally, the newly added item Wind Rider Helmet already provides an active Slow effect. Moreover, compared to other healing reduction items, the duration of the Suppression effect’s healing reduction was too short, which did not fully reflect this item’s healing reduction functionality. We hope that this item can serve as an effective counter to certain Marksman and Samurai shikigami. Therefore, we have removed the original King Mu Order effect and transferred the Attack Speed reduction effect, which was removed from Tsukuyomi Do, to Hoko Do. At the same time, we have extended the duration of healing reduction from the Suppression effect.

Suppression adjustment: When hit by a basic attack, the attacker will suffer a 35% reduction in healing effects, with the duration increased from 1s to 3s.

New effect Penghou’s Lock: When hit by an enemy shikigami’s basic attack, you will reduce the enemy shikigami’s Attack Speed by 15% for 3s, refreshing the Attack Speed reduction duration each time you take basic attack damage from the target.

Removed the original King Mu Order effect.

Gold Hachiman Do

Gold Hachiman Do’s original item effect Golden Armor reduces the damage dealt by the enemy after inflicting control. We hope to enhance the damage effect of the item. When Tank shikigami inflict control, they can use this item in conjunction with the team’s coordinated attack to seal the enemy shikigami. Therefore, we replaced the original Golden Armor effect. The new item effect is to apply a Golden Armor mark to the controlled enemy shikigami after inflicting control. When the duration of the mark ends, the target will take magic damage from the explosion of the mark based on all the damage received during the mark period. At the same time, we removed the Movement Speed increase effect provided by Feathers, hoping to focus more on damage and tanking.

Golden Armor effect adjustments

When inflicting a control effect on an enemy shikigami, they will be marked with a Golden Armor that lasts for 3s. When the time is up, it will explode, dealing (+3% of max HP) (+25% of the damage taken by the target during the mark period) magic damage. The damage will not exceed 800. This effect has a cooldown of 30s for each enemy shikigami.

Removed the original Feathers effect.

Ninth Heaven Wing

The original Ninth Heaven Wing stacks provide limited magic damage reduction, making it hard to counter opponents effectively even when facing magic damage oriented lineups. In this adjustment, we hope to add a high magic damage reduction effect at full stacks, allowing Tank shikigami to better counter magic damage oriented lineups or when laning against Mage shikigami. As a balance adjustment, we have reduced the base Magic Resist provided by the item.

Stats: Magic Resist reduced from +85 to +50.

Phoenix Wing effect adjustment: Whenever you take magic damage from a shikigami ability, decrease future magic damage taken by 3%. Stacks up to 5 times and lasts for 6s. When at max stacks, you will additionally receive a 10% magic damage reduction effect. Each time you take magic damage from a shikigami ability, the effect duration is refreshed.

Sanzu River Lantern

Sanzu River Lantern’s original item effect Ogawa River has overly scattered damage and lacks burst damage, and the cost-effectiveness of the basic attributes is rather low. Since Tank shikigami have weaker sustained damage output capabilities compared to Samurai shikigami, we hope that Tank shikigami can get a certain damage increase when casting fairly powerful ultimate abilities in conjunction with their own control effects. Therefore, this adjustment will remove the original Ogawa River effect. The new item effect Hellfire will be triggered along with the ultimate ability to generate a burning area at the feet of the first hit target, dealing damage over time.

Stats adjustments

Increased from +525 HP to +700 HP.

Magic Resist increased from +110 to +120.

New effect Hellfire: Within 4s of casting the ultimate ability, when dealing damage with basic attacks or abilities, a burning area lasting 4s is created at the feet of the first target hit, dealing 55 (+4% additional max HP) magic damage to units in the area every 0.5s. This effect has a 40s cooldown time.

Removed the original Ogawa River effect.

Sessho-seki Do

As a late-game oriented item, Sessho-seki Do has a weak effect of resisting Crit Damage, and the provided attributes are not diverse enough, thus unable to effectively help Tank shikigami enhance their survivability in the late game. This adjustment hopes to enhance Sessho-seki Do’s resistance to Crit Damage, so that Tank shikigami can resist a large amount of damage when facing Crit Damage-oriented lineups in the late game. At the same time, we have enriched the attributes of Sessho-seki Do, allowing it to provide a reasonable HP buff. As a balance adjustment, we have increased the price of Sessho-seki Do, hoping that it can exert its due power in the late game team battles in Heian-kyo.

Price: Adjusted from 1,900 to 2,250.

Stat adjustments: Added +500 HP.

Fusion Recipe adjustment: Domaru Armor + Domaru Armor + Bronze Scale.

Jizo Deity adjustment: The percentage of Crit Damage converted to Shield increased from 15% to 30%.

God-killing Halberd

Currently, God-killing Halberd is ineffective at gaining additional max HP, so we have added a new effect to God-killing Halberd when gaining additional max HP in this item adjustment.

Tank Shikigami Adjustments

Yumekui

Currently, Yumekui’s overall survivability among Tank shikigami is relatively strong, and the Shield provided by the Natural Passive Dream Devourer is high. Therefore, we have slightly reduced the Shield provided by the Natural Passive Dream Devourer.

Natural Passive Dream Devourer:

Shield reduced from 40 (+4% max HP) (+20*Current Level) to 25 (+4% max HP) (+12*Current Level).

Free Shikigami Lineup Adjustments

Onmyoji Arena will change the lineup of the limited-time free shikigami at 5:00 AM on 03/04. The new free shikigami will be Kubinashi, Yamausagi, Takiyasha Hime, Kamimai, Susabi, Enenra, Kisei, and Mouba.

Onmyoji who own the God of Fortune Month Pact will have the additional free shikigami, Mushishi and Ibaraki Doji.

Of these shikigami, Kisei and Mouba have a difficulty of Hard. Onmyoji who have been in Heian-kyo for less than 7 days can’t use them in battle for free.
