April 14th, 2023 Update Patch Notes
The Onmyoji Arena April 14th, 2023 Update sees sees Jinmenju make his debut on the Heian-kyo battlefield.
New Shikigami Jinmenju
“There is no point in making wishes before me.”
Jinmenju is a Tank shikigami with some control capability. Being a spirit that grew on a tree, Jinmenju is not agile, but he can restrict enemies with his abilities and trait, making it harder for them to escape when near him. After Jinmenju casts the Ultimate Ability: Cursed Roots, his mobility is further reduced in exchange for a higher Defense and a higher continuous DPS capability. Enemies that rashly approach Jinmenju during this period will be attacked by him mercilessly.
Trait: Foreboding Flower
Jinmenju’s basic attacks on enemy shikigami and monsters will plant Foreboding Flowers on his targets and he recovers HP upon attacking these targets. When Jinmenju attacks the Foreboding Flowers on these targets, they bloom and inflict Slow on the targets and enemies nearby before dealing physical damage to the targets and enemies nearby again after a short delay. This effect has a cooldown against the same target, but there will not be any cooldown when in the Cursed Roots state.
When sealed by enemy shikigami, Jinmenju will make a Foreboding Flower bloom at the feet of the sealing shikigami.
Ability 1: Twisting Vines
Jinmenju extends his vines in the designated direction, dealing physical damage to enemies along the way. If the vines hit terrain, Jinmenju will pull himself to that position, dealing bonus damage to the enemies he hits along the way, knocking them back, and inflicting Slow on them.
Ability 2: Entangled Roots
Jinmenju sweeps his branches across a fan-shaped area in front, dealing physical damage to enemies and using vines to link up with the enemy shikigami hit. If any links remain intact after a certain period of time, they will deal bonus damage to the linked target(s), restrain them, and pull them toward Jinmenju for a certain distance.
Ability 3: Divine Tree
Jinmenju plants a Divine Tree at the designated position. The Divine Tree blocks movement and continuously inflicts Slow on enemies around itself. When the Divine Tree reaches the end of its duration, or when Jinmenju casts Ability 1 and pulls himself to it, it will disappear, dealing physical damage to enemies around itself.
Ability 4: Cursed Roots
Jinmenju transforms into Cursed Roots, decreasing his Movement Speed and gaining damage reduction during this period. While in the Cursed Roots state, Jinmenju will automatically lock onto and use basic attacks on targets around himself, dealing physical damage to them and the enemies in their direction.
Casting again when in the Cursed Roots state removes the state prematurely. When the state ends, Jinmenju gains a temporary Haste effect.
This week sees Jinmenju make his debut on the Heian-kyo battlefield.
The Jinmenju Selection Pack will also be available in the General Store. The selection pack includes the new shikigami Jinmenju, his Dyed Skin Vine Tea, Evolved Form Amulet x1, Taichi Mudra x1, and Witchery Bell x8. You can select which to purchase! The Jinmenju Selection Pack will be available till 11:59 PM on April 27th, 2023. Don’t miss out on this chance to get Jinmenju!

New Features
Joystick Response Sensitivity Settings
Added an ability joystick response range setting. Releasing the ability joystick when it is dragged within the set range will not trigger any response. It is only when the ability joystick is released beyond this range that the action becomes recognized as an aimed casting. Players can now use this setting to adjust the wheel’s response range.
Opening Animation
In order to improve the game’s visual effects and offer players a richer visual experience, we have added opening animations to 5v5 matches and Ranked Matches.
Recommended Shikigami Feature
Added a Recommended Shikigami feature to the Ban/Pick and Fog modes in Ranked Matches. Recommendations will be made based on match tier, shikigami’s compatibility within each team’s lineup, as well as combat capabilities. Other than helping players strengthen their teams through shikigami recommendations, we also hope to help newly-promoted players and returning players adapt sooner to the game’s environment (subsequent updates will extend this feature to other modes).
Turret Defense Alert
When a non-highland ally turret is attacked by enemy shikigami in the mid game and no ally shikigami are nearby, a symbol signal will automatically appear on the mini map as an alert for allies to return and defend the turret. Each turret’s defense alert has its own independent cooldown of x seconds.
When a highland ally turret is under attack and no ally shikigami are nearby, a symbol signal will automatically appear on the mini map as an alert for allies to return and defend the turret. “Guard the highland” will also be broadcast to remind players to engage in defense.
Optimizations and Adjustments
1. To improve the overall performance of devices, the Service Team has updated the Resolution option in Visual Settings. This can be adjusted in Settings – Visual Settings. Users can now enjoy a more stable gaming performance with minimal effect on visuals.
2. We have optimized the following shikigami’s casting indicators to better represent the actual ranges of their abilities.
Added an attack range display for Karasu Tengu’s Ability 3: Blade of Justice.
Added a displacement direction indicator for Furi’s Ability 1: Sticky Bombs.
Added a transmission range indicator for Kaguya’s Ability 2: Moonlight Echo and Momiji’s Ability 2: Maple Note.
Added an outer circle range indicator for Kingyo’s Ultimate Ability: Goldfish Sentinel and Komatsu’s Ultimate Ability: Raining Pine Cones.
Added a Yuki Hime-detecting range indicator for Nekomata’s Ability 3: Come in Kitties – Yuki Hime.
Added a nearby attack range indicator for Ubume’s Ability 3: Night Visitor.
Added an initial attack range and flight path indicator for Shiro’s Ultimate Ability: Wandering Soul.
3. Optimized the description text and map icon display for neutral monsters, as well as the button layout of the mini map on the right. We hope that this will help players better strategize how to surround and battle neutral monsters.
4. The attack range of the Serpent Priestess currently has too pronounced a warning circle effect such that it affects the vision on the battlefield. We have thus temporarily removed it.
5. We have added item overviews to items that can be bought so that players can quickly get an idea of a particular item’s features and effects.
New Mahjong Fight Season
Mahjong Fight S7 is now available! From April 4th, 2023 after maintenance, Mahjong Fight will implement a new tier system. All Mahjong tiers will be reset to either Dedicated Novice or Promising Rookie, based on your current tier. Meanwhile, we will introduce a new tier reward system, where you can claim rewards upon reaching a new tier and additional rewards for reaching a tier for the very first time. Furthermore, we will be displaying Mahjong Master Medals on the Mahjong Fight screen. Reach the Heian-kyo Mahjong Master tier to upgrade your Mahjong Master Medals.
Mahjong Fight Balance Adjustments
Wizard Bond Effect Redesigned
We have redesigned the Wizard bond effect to maintain the original experience of the bond while enhancing the gameplay of Mahjong Fight on the whole.
The Wizard bond effect has been adjusted as follows: Wizard shikigami gain 100/180 HP. Establishing the Wizard bond grants 1 Crown item that can be equipped on any Wizard tile. A Crowned Wizard gains double stats bonus. When the battle begins, a magic array is drawn in your own battlefield over a total of 8/6 seconds. Completing the magic array restores (+10%/25% of Max HP) HP and 10/20 MP to Wizard shikigami, and increases their ability damage by 20%/50% until the battle ends. Once the array is drawn, this effect will trigger once every 4/3 seconds.
Tile Ability Adjustments
Following the redesign of the Wizard bond effect, adjustments have been made to the abilities of certain Wizard shikigami. We have also made adjustments to the abilities and stats of some Tank, Mage, and Marksman shikigami based on their bond performances in the last season.
Enenra (3 Coins, Wizard):
Removed.
Dai Shimei (4 Coins, Wizard):
New.
Passive effect: Dai Shimei recovers 20/25/30 MP each time a Wizard shikigami casts an ability.
Active effect: Dai Shimei’s sword strikes the designated area, dealing 150/195/240 magic damage and inflicting Stun for 1.8/2.4/3 seconds on enemies within the area.
Kiyohime (5 Coins, Wizard):
New.
Passive effect: For every level of Wizard shikigami bond activated, Kiyohime casts 1 additional instance of Sacrificial Fire.
Active effect: For the next 5 seconds, Kiyohime casts Sacrificial Fire at the target. Each attack shoots two consecutive bursts of flame that each deals 80/120/160 magic damage. The flames will prioritize attacking different enemy shikigami, unless only one shikigami is in range.
Shiro Mujou (2 Coins, Wizard):
Adjusted passive effect: When a Wizard shikigami dies, the ally shikigami with largest HP loss will recover (+30%/40%/50% of Max HP) HP and the Crowned Wizard additionally recovers (+30%/40%/50% of Max HP) HP. The Crowned Wizard’s surplus HP will be converted into a temporary shield.
Vampira (4 Coins, Wizard):
Adjusted passive effect: Each time the player loses 1 HP, all ally units gain 0.75%/1%/1.5% All-Round HP Steal.
Aoandon (5 Coins, Wizard):
Increased Aoandon’s MP Regen when attacking and decreased her MP Regen when being attacked.
Adjusted passive effect: When the battle begins, Aoandon will be linked to the shikigami one square to her right. When she casts abilities, the linked shikigami will recover 50/65/80 MP. Position changes that arise from the battle will not affect this effect.
Kyonshi Ani (3 Coins, Tank):

Item Adjustments
For the new season, we have added a new item and made adjustments to two rarely used items.
Night Parasol:
New.

Asakusa Glow:
The target to be healed is now locked at the start of battle and will not be affected by the position changes that arise from the battle.
