April 21st, 2023 Update Patch Notes
The Onmyoji Arena April 21st, 2023 Update sees Kingyo’s Space Wanderer series skin, A Dream of Stars, is now available.
Prize Pool Update
After maintenance on April 21st, the following skins will be added to the Prayer Ema prize pool: Yuki Onna – Kyo (Heian Festival), Tamamonomae – Demonic·Kyuubi, Hangan – Merciful Judge, Susabi – Unrivaled Champion, Ibaraki Doji – Demon Hand, and Kaguya – Moonlit Night.
The following skins will be added to the Wish Card prize pool: Shishio – Violet Snow, Inugami – Sakura Flurry, Momiji – Puppet Dance, and Jorogumo – Black Widow.
Exchange House Updates
The following shikigami will be added to the Mystery Shop in the Exchange House: Umibozu, Jikikaeru, and Hangan. The following skins will be added to the Mystery Shop in the Exchange House: Shuten Doji – A Song of Wine, Kuro Mujou – Obsidian Black, Kanko – Golden Kitsune, and Vampira – Deadly Cyan. Be sure to exchange for them in time!

Hundred Battle Challenge
Event Period: April 21st after maintenance to May 18th, 2023
During the event, use Kingyo’s Space Wanderer series skin, A Dream of Stars, to complete designated quests to claim rewards including Prayer Ema, Return Cursed Seal Lucky Gift Boxes, and Coin Bags.
Finale of Divine Birth

Kuro’s strong survivability as a Tank shikigami has made it difficult for opponents to take him out. He also poses a significant threat to enemy DPS in teamfights. We have thus slightly reduced Kuro’s damage so that players can better face off against him.
Ability 1: Vengeful Cut
Reduced additional Max HP bonus from 2.75% to 2.25%.
Ootengu’s combat capabilities are weak in teamfights. We hope to improve his performance through increasing the damage of his Ultimate Ability.
Ultimate Ability: Blade Storm
Increased base damage from 90/150/210 to 90/170/250.
Increased Ability Power bonus from 40% to 45%.
Kyuumei Neko’s combat capabilities are weak in the early game because of the random nature of her trait. There is also not much she can do before her Ultimate Ability is learned or when her Ultimate Ability is on cooldown. We have thus adjusted the way her Natural Passive: Nine Lives is triggered, as well as reduced the gap in her abilities during and outside of the Explosive Fur state.
Trait: Nine Lives
Grants Tail marks when using basic attacks or Ability 1’s enhanced basic attacks instead.
Reduced the Tail mark duration from 10 seconds to 4 seconds.
Reduced the Movement Speed granted with each stack of Tail mark from 1.5% to 1%.
Ability 1: Revenge
Changed the 1-second 80% Slow to a 0.5-second Immobilize.
Ability 3: Pounce
Increased the displacement distance from 500 yards to 600 yards.
Vampira is rather weak currently, and it is difficult to select a target to attack with her Ability 1 during teamfights. We have optimized the way Ability 1 is cast and made some adjustments to Vampira’s other abilities for fans of Vampira to enjoy a better experience when using her in teamfights.
Ability 1: Blood Bats
Passive: When Vampira’s basic attacks or abilities deal damage to enemy shikigami, she summons bats to continuously attack her target. Subsequent basic attacks and ability damage continue to enhance the bats attached to them. Blood Boost and Blood Embrace provide the bats with additional enhancement stacks on hit.
Active: Vampira summons all bats attached to targets within a certain range back to her. She also deals damage to her targets and recovers HP, both based on the total number of enhancement stacks on her bats.
Reduced the base additional Max HP bonus in the healing effect granted with each stack of enhancement on the bats from 0.9% to 0.75%.
Reduced the level-dependent additional Max HP bonus in the healing effect granted with each stack of enhancement on the bats from 0.05% to 0.03%.
Reduced the Ability Power bonus in the healing effect granted with each stack of enhancement on the bats from 8% to 5%.
Reduced ability cooldown from 12/11/10/9/8 seconds to 12/10.5/9/7.5/6 seconds.
Ability 2: Blood Boost
Increased the Ability Power bonus in the healing effect from 7.5% to 15%.
Reduced the ability power bonus for damage 60% to 45%.
Ultimate Ability: Blood Embrace
No longer reduces the cooldown of Blood Bats.
We noticed Enma has been performing poorly of late and is barely able to lay a finger on enemies in teamfights. We have thus strengthened Enma, adjusted the casting logic of her abilities, and made it easier for her abilities to land hits.
Ability 1: Spirit Command
Inflicts a 10%/15%/20%/25%/30% Slow for 1 second.
Ability 2: Demon Realm
Increased the Slow effect inflicted upon hitting enemies from 0.5 seconds to 1.5 seconds.
Casting is no longer restricted in direction for the duration of the Ultimate Ability.
Hakuro has a rather weak performance in matches, especially so in non-Fog mode. We hope to improve her performance by optimizing Hakuro’s control and increasing her overall strength. We have also made some adjustments to Hakuro’s mechancs to optimize her performance in matches outside Fog mode.
Ability 1: Swift
Reduced Attack Speed bonus from 0.3/0.35/0.4/0.45/0.5 to 22%/24%/26%/28%/30%.
Ability 2: Scatter
Hitting enemies inflicts a 25% Slow for 1.5 seconds.
Animation shortens as Attack Speed increases.
Ability 3: Mind’s Eye
Increased target’s Max HP-dependent damage from 4%/4.5%/5%/5.5%/6% of Max HP to 5%/5.75%/6.5%/7.5%/8%.
Ultimate Ability: Non-Self
Shortened casting animation.
Kusa is rather weak on the whole and it is difficult to trigger her maximum value. We hope to rationalize the stacking of gains to improve the experience of players when using Kusa.
Ability 1: Flower Power
Kusa’s damage now causes the target’s Seed of Life to bloom.
Increased HP recovery from 45/65/85/105/125 (+27.5% of Ability Power) to 60/85/110/135/160 (+40% of Ability Power).
Ability 2: Absorb
Increased magic damage from 10% to 20%. Increased base value for Armor and Magic Resist from 4 to 8. Increased level growth for Armor and Magic Resist from 0.4 to 0.8.
Reduced maximum stacks from 6 to 3.
Ability 3: Tangle Root
Removed the damage reduction effect.
Izaya’s performance is weak in the late game, with little to no opportunities to use his ranged Ability 3: Different Paths. The ability also has the tendency to transport ally shikigami by mistake. We have thus made slight adjustments to a few of Izaya’s abilities and optimized the mechanic of Ability 3: Different Paths to improve the gaming experience for fans of Izaya, as well as for players who have her as an ally shikigami.
Ability 1: Shrill Shuttle
Increased Ability Power bonus from 0.35 to 0.4.
Increased Ability Power bonus of the damage triggered by Seal of Corrosion from 0.15 to 0.2 bonus.
Ability 3: Different Paths
Reduced the maximum transport distance between the circles of shuttles. Changed the transport duration to a fixed duration of 0.9 seconds.
Kosodenote is rather weak in the late game and she has a huge performance gap between her entry and maxed out states. As such, we hope to improve Kosodenote’s overall strength and optimize the casting barriers in some of her abilities.
Ability 1: Hidden Sting
Increased the maximum duration of connection via the thread from 15 seconds to 25 seconds.
Increased the bonus damage dealt at the target’s weakness from 10/27.5/45/62.5/80 (+35% extra Attack) (+2% (increases by 1% for every 160 extra Attack) of target’s Max HP) to 10/27.5/45/62.5/80 (+50% extra Attack) (+2% (increases by 1% for every 80 extra Attack).
Ultimate Ability: Flawless Sting
Still returns 80% of the cooldown duration when the target is sealed while the ability is being cast.
Adjusted the shield-granting mechanic such that a shield is now granted upon hitting a target, where the number of seal stacks on the target determines the value of the granted shield.
We originally designed Enmusubi’s Ability 3: Soul Mate with the intention of having players preemptively cast the ability to guard against enemy shikigami’s control abilities, but this ability is now being used to dispel the control effects their teammates are under, making it difficult for the enemy to counter. We hope to adjust this mechanic to create a fairer and more competitive environment for players on both sides.
Ability 3: Soul Mate
Inflicted control effects cannot be dispelled.
The duration has been adjusted from 2.5 seconds to 3 seconds.
Ittan-momen currently has to keep moving about while jungling for the monsters to have their backs toward him. This is fairly cumbersome so we hope to simplify the jungling mechanic for players to have an easier time jungling while maintaining the same experience when facing off against shikigami.
Natural Passive: Entanglement
Effect can now be triggered without having to attack monsters from behind.
The maximum damage to monsters has been lowered from 175 (+25 * current level) to 100 (+15 * current level).
Optimizations and Adjustments
Optimized the enemy-selection logic in Kosodenote’s Ultimate Ability: Flawless Sting for its smart casting to preferentially target a connected enemy shikigami from Ability 1: Hidden Sting.
Free Shikigami Lineup Adjustments
We will change the lineup of the limited-time free shikigami at 5:00 AM on April 24th, 2023. The new free shikigami will be Chin, Momo, Vampira, Hone Onna, Oitsuki, Shiro Mujou, Shishio, and Kyonshi Ani.
Onmyoji who own the God of Fortune Month Pact will have the additional free shikigami, Kusa and Jikikaeru.
Of these shikigami, Kyonshi Ani has a difficulty of Hard. Onmyoji who have been in Heian-kyo for less than 7 days can’t use him in battle for free.
