December 25th 2020 Update Patch Notes
The Onmyoji Arena December 25th 2020 Update sees Oitsuki’s Christmas Carol series skin, Snow Bunny, arrives.
Free Shikigami Lineup Adjustments
Onmyoji Arena will change the lineup of the limited-time free shikigami at 5:00 AM on 12/28. The new free shikigami will be Chin, Kaguya, Kuro, Yumekui, Hangan, Kyonshi Imoto, Satori, and Kuro Mujou.
Onmyoji who own the God of Fortune Month Pact will have the additional free shikigami, Yoto Hime and Higanbana.
Of these shikigami, Satori and Kuro Mujou have a difficulty of Hard. Onmyoji who have been in Heian-kyo for less than 7 days can’t use them in battle for free.
Heian-kyo Showdown
We have been observing the overall performance of the Heian-kyo Showdown mode ever since its release, and after serious discussions among the Service Team, we have decided to close this mode. For players who participated in Heian-kyo Showdown in the beginning of this season, the number of matches won in Heian-kyo Showdown will be converted into soul fires for Season 11 Ranked Match at a 1:1 ratio. The rewards will be sent after this update.
At the same time, players’ rank titles will be determined by their current placement once they reach Superstar tier. The top 500 players will attain the tier of Otaku, the top 200 players will attain the tier of Grand Onmyoji, and the top 50 players will attain the tier of Supreme Onmyoji. Players will earn the corresponding Title, Avatar Frame, and Expression after the season’s results have been tallied.
Environment Adjustments
Turret Protection
We hope that the Turret Protection will be of more defensive use to turrets during the early game while not affecting the speed of destroying turrets too much during the late game, and we have to suitably balance the speed of turret destruction by different number of shikigami. We will change the damage reduction of the Turret Protection from a percentage to a fixed block value, which will slightly increase according to the number of enemy shikigami nearby.
Adjustments to EXP Gained
In the previous season adjustment, we adjusted the earning of EXP and Coins, and we have observed that the team with the upper hand gets a large lead in terms of EXP and income. However, this leads to the disadvantaged team being unable to turn the match because of the difficulty to counter-kill. We have optimized the rules for gaining of EXP, so that the level difference between the two teams is more reasonable.
