September 28th, 2023 Update Patch Notes
The September 28th, 2023 Update sees new Mage shikigami Orochi make his debut on the Heian-kyo battlefield.
New Shikigami
Orochi
Do you crave for this power as well?
Orochi is an incredibly powerful Serpent God from Takamagahara. He was sealed away in Hazama, between the Yin and Yang realms. When he broke free from his cell and arrived in Heian-kyo, chaos and panic ran rampant.
Trait: Shadow of the Serpent God
The Serpent Priestess will not attack nor inflict debuffs on Orochi. When Orochi is near the Serpent Priestess, he can guide to deal true damage over time to Serpent Priestess. If Orochi helps to seal Serpent Priestess, he will gain huge amounts of Tainted Energy.
Ability 1: Evil God’s Gaze / Venomous Tooth
Evil God’s Gaze:
Orochi commands the Serpent Demon to glare at the designated direction. The first enemy target to be spotted and all enemies nearby will take magic damage over time. While commanding, Orochi’s movement speed is reduced, but he can change the Serpent Demon’s direction. Orochi can cancel his command at any time. While the ability is active, Orochi can cast the ability again to command the Serpent Demon’s gaze.
Venomous Tooth:
Orochi lunges forward and tears, dealing magic damage to enemies within range.
Ability 2: Serpent’s Embrace / Divine Force of Shadows
Serpent’s Embrace:
Orochi summons a Serpent Demon that rushes in the designated direction and stops when it hits the first enemy Shikigami. The Serpent Demon inflicts magic damage and Immobilize to all enemies along the path, and will remain on the first target hit for a while. After a delay, Orochi will collect the Serpent Demon’s power and recover HP and Energy based on damage dealt to the target while the Serpent Demon exists.
Divine Force of Shadows:
Orochi continues to drain the specified area, inflicting Slow and magic damage over time to enemies within range.
At the end of the specified area, open a demonic portal that continues to move towards Orochi. The portal will knockback and deal magic damage to all enemies that come in contact.
Ability 3: Suppression of Evil / Soul Shatter
Suppression of Evil: Orochi summons the Serpent God’s Might, which takes shape after a brief delay. When enemies approach, the Serpent God’s Might explodes, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and inflicting Slow. Then, the Serpent Demon emerges from the Tainted Energy to attack nearby enemies.
Soul Shatter: Orochi rushes towards the specified direction, knocking aside enemies along the path, dealing magic damage.
Ultimate Ability: Devouring Hazama
Orochi summons a Hazama pathway and arrives in Heian-kyo, knocking back nearby enemies and dealing magic damage. While in this state, Orochi is unable to conceal himself in grass. This state lasts a maximum of 20 seconds, granting Orochi immunity to all control effects, reducing his movement speed, and providing him with independent HP, Armor, and Magic Resist. Periodically, Orochi releases a toxic venom towards up to three nearby enemies. After a short delay, the venom inflicts magical damage to enemies within the affected area. Once the state ends or Orochi’s HP drops to 0, he will return to Hazama.
Passive: Orochi slowly gathers Tainted Energy. Abilities that hit enemy Shikigami and helping to seal Large Monsters will also provide Orochi with bonus Tainted Energy. When Tainted Energy is full, Orochi can use his Ultimate Ability.

Onikiri’s Exquisite Skin Sky Void – Flurry of Knives will be available! Exchange it at Daruma Blessing using Daruma Tokens after the maintenance.
During matches, “Exquisite” Skins have a new feature: When the Onmyoji makes a Spotlight Moment or uses certain abilities, the Exquisite Skin will have an exclusive display. Exquisite Skin also provides its user an exclusive themed visual interface including Custom Buttons (can be set up under “Shikigami”). Also, exchange for “Exquisite” Skins and get Exclusive Avatar Frames and Dynamic Avatars for free. “Exquisite” Skins bring a whole new level of cool themes and experiences for skins in Heian-kyo. Daruma Blessing Skins have been updated! Accumulated rewards have been reset!

Royal Treasures
Event Period: September 28th, 2023 after maintenance to November 9th, 2023
Kingyo’s Royal Skin Wagashi Origami, Mannendake’s Royal Skin Flow Step, and Miketsu’s Royal Skin Oath: Lightchaser will return for the first time. During the event, exchange them at Daruma Blessing using Daruma Tokens.
Prior to each Royal Skin’s first return, we will provide Onmyoji who already owned the Royal Skin with an exclusive “tag”, including an exclusive Novice – Royal Skin Tag and an exclusive Royal Honors Limited-edition Achievement (this can be viewed under the Achievements and can be displayed on the Home Page and shared through the Chat System). Onmyoji who obtain a Royal Skin upon or after its first return will only obtain the Royal Skin Tag but not the limited-edition Royal Honors achievement and the original Royal Avatar Frame.
Daruma Exchange Survey – Returning Skins
Event Period: September 28th, 2023 after maintenance to December 28th, 2023
Voting for the Daruma Exchange Survey has ended! The returning plan is as follows:
Returning Skins (September 29th – October 26th): The skin in the 1st place from the Daruma Exchange Survey (Hone Onna – Night Candle) and the 2nd place (Momo – Blossom Letter).
Returning Skin (October 27th – November 23th): The skin in the 3rd place from the Daruma Exchange Survey (Menreiki – Lunar Fantasia).
Returning Skins (November 24th – December 28th): Players have the option to purchase 1 of skins in the 4th through 8th place from the Daruma Exchange Survey (Hakuro – Electric Meteorite, Yoto Hime – Ecliptic Meander, Momiji – Vermilion Hail, Youko – Flare Star: Shining Plates, Karasu Tengu – Wings of Glory).

Veteran Gift System Update
The most recent Veteran Gift System in August received much praise from Onmyojis. To better improve the gaming experience for Onmyojis returning to Heian-kyo, the Service Team will conduct another round of Veteran Gift System Update on 9/28 after maintenance and improve the returning quests by only keeping battle-related quests. Completing quests will grant points to exchange for the Reunion Gift Pack, which includes free rewards like Rename Card, All Shikigami Selection Pack, Decoy Fire, and Cloud-returning Crane. Top up to get the additional Returning Gift, which includes amazing rewards like the Rare Skin Selection Pack!
Also, for Onmyojis have been busy lately and have little chance to visit Heian-kyo, logging to the game for a chance to unlock brand new Welfare Events. Within 3 days from the start of the event, complete quests each day to obtain Skin Trial Card!
Shrine Prize Pool Updates
On September 28th after maintenance, Shuten Doji Demonic·Lord, Ibaraki Doji Demonic·Rashomon, Ootengu Heavenly White, Chin Blossom Fan, Hannya Student·Teen, and Kusa Student·Expect will be added to Prayer Ema prize pool.
Kusa Autumn Maple, Ibaraki Doji Winter Bamboo, Susabi Aquatic Wishes and Kaguya Crescent Boatwill be added to the Wish Card prize pool.
Exchange House Updates
On September 28th after maintenance, Kyuumei Neko, Tanuki, and Kiyohime will be added to Exchange House – Mystery Shop – Shikigami.
The following skins will be added to the Exchange House – Mystery Shop – Skins prize pool: Shishio Violet Snow, Inugami Sakura Flurry, Momiji Puppet Dance, and Jorogumo Black Widow.
Sincere Interaction
We have updated the trigger methods for Shikigami interactive Easter eggs to include the Sincere function.
Once a Shikigami reaches a certain amount of Favor and receives affection through the Shikigami or View interfaces, they will trigger all sorts of special interactive Easter egg actions!
Interaction and Communication Updates
We have always made it a top priority to provide each Onmyoji with a friendly gaming environment.
This update includes some interaction for both in and out of matches: Before a match starts, the loading screen includes cheering Paper Dolls; many friendly interactions during matches are added; and special effects after a match to praise the MVP!
We invite all Onmyojis to explore and keep a harmonious gaming environment together!
Optimizations and Adjustments
We optimized the Expression display effects. Now, when Onmyojis on the same team use Expressions, they will also be displayed to the left of the screen.
Fixed the issue where during selection stage, the Chat Screen became transparent.
Optimized Lobby interface display, including options to hide buttons and simplified design to better showcase Shikigami and create an immersive feel!
Optimized Daruma Blessing UI, making it easier to use and to read key information.
To show our appreciation for Onmyoji’s love and support, the Service Team will offer lots of welfares from 8/15 to 9/10. Even beginners can receive these welfares, the Service Team has updated the rewards from the Beginner Guide’s 7-Day Login and Journey Chapter. Starting from 9/10, new Onmyojis that complete the basic quests will receive the new rewards!
Free Shikigami Lineup Adjustments
We will change the lineup of the limited-time free Shikigami at 5:00 AM on October 2nd, 2023. The new free Shikigami will be Jikikaeru, Bakekujira, Hououga, Yuki, Hangan, Yamawaro, Kisei, and Puppeteer.
Onmyoji who own the God of Fortune Month Pact will have the additional free Shikigami, Hannya and Oitsuki.
Of these Shikigami, Kisei and Puppeteer have a difficulty of Hard. Onmyoji who have been in Heian-kyo for less than 7 days can’t use them for free in battle.
